The little church was built with love in eighteen eighty-four
Many knees knelt down to pray on its hardwood floor
Nestled snug up on a mountain high above the town
When sunlight lit the steeple, it wore a golden crown

And the sound of singing echoed through the evergreens
Drifted down the mountainside, to valleys in between
The old church doors swung opened wide, the Holy Spirit came inside
It was revival time in the old hometown

(Chorus)
The amen corner came alive
When all those souls had been revived
To find a smile, you didn't have far to search
They clapped their hands, said a prayer
Thanked God for His loving care, and for
Revival in the little country church

(Bridge)
Lord, thank you for mem'ries
Of those revival days
That brought people to their knees
In everlasting praise

The preacher quoted scripture verse to neighbors far and wide
Voices of the choir sounded through the countryside
Young and old alike, they gathered 'round to hear the Word
Shouting hallelujah in praises to the Lord

And the pews filled up with people holdin' Bibles, bowin' heads
Nodding in agreement to the things that preacher said
Singin' Bringin' in the Sheaves, sayin' "Jesus, I believe!"
It was revival time in the old hometown

(Chorus)
The amen corner came alive
When all those souls had been revived
To find a smile, you didn't have far to search
They clapped their hands, said a prayer
Thanked God for His loving care, and for
Revival in the little country church

(Tag)
And for revival in the little country church
